The Home Instead
Dublin Summer Bridge Congress 2019
Friday the 26th to Sunday the 28th of July
St Michael's College, Ailesbury Road,
Ballsbridge, Dublin 4
We are delighted to be staging the Home Instead Dublin Summer Bridge Congress after the continued success of the last three years.
We are delighted to announce that the Home Instead Dublin Summer Congress 2019 will be held in the beautiful and convenient surroundings of St Michael's College, Ailesbury Road. The august college is situated in the heart of leafy Ballsbridge and only a short walk from Sydney Parade Dart Station. Its superb location is also seviced by many bus routes and there is ample parking when you arrive.
Ann Burns and I are delighted that this new venue will prove a particular boon for anyone who can connect with the Dart line accross the province.
In our first four years we had more than 1,000 entries - a record for any Irish Bridge Congress. This year we are, once again, particularly interested in welcoming players from all over Ireland and overseas. Below, I have listed some of the best places to stay near our venue and provided phone numbers and links to their websites. Why not invite friends from abroad to come and join us? They would be most welcome.
Once again, we hope to encourage players at every level to participate in the fun that congresses usually generate on so many levels. We are also keen to welcome any volunteers who would like to contribute their time or talents. If you are interested, please contact me at 086 819 2765.
To this end, we are hosting separate Novice and Mixed Pairs on the Friday, Intermediate A, Intermediate B, Area Master and Congress Pairs on the Saturday and separate Novice, Intermediate A, Intermediate B, Area Master and Congress Teams on the Sunday.
The committee are delighted that our Tournament Directors will be putting together the best TD team in the country.
We kick off the event on the Friday evening with a Mixed Pairs competition. We are also keeping our Novice Pairs competition on Friday night which makes it more welcoming to less experienced players.
For those of you who would prefer not to play in the formal competition, there will be an Open Pairs competition on the Friday night and on the Sunday also, where pre-booking is not necessary.

Any person who is successful in getting us sponsorship for any of the competitions we are holding will receive a free entry for themselves and their partner for that competition.
The sponsorship categories are:

PATRONS
The Dublin Summer Bridge Congress has been a fantastic addition to the Irish Bridge Calendar and we hope to continue to provide fun and competitive Bridge around this time for many years to come. However, we do require sponsors and patrons to help us in our task.
If you feel that Bridge has given you something extra in your life and you are in a position to support us, we would be thrilled if you became a Patron of the Dublin Summer Bridge Congress.
The cost of being a patron is just €100 and all our patrons will be acknowledged in our literature and will be given a personal free entry to all their competitions over the weekend as a thank you for their participation.
Cheques should be crossed and made payable to Dublin Summer Congress and sent C/o Rory Egan, Tús Nua, Ashtown Upper, Roundwood, Co Wicklow.
