Minutes of Annual General Meeting 2024
Date: Friday June 14th at 18:30
Venue: Malahide Regional Bridge Club
Minutes:
• It was established that a quorum was present. The quorum is 12 and 22
members were in attendance. There were 2 apologies – See appended
Attendance Sheet.
• The President, Dan O’Mahony, welcomed members to the meeting.
• Minutes of the 2023 AGM were presented by Mary Breen and accepted (Proposed
by Dan O’Mahony, Seconded by John Kehoe).
o There were no Matters Arising.
• The Treasurer's Report for 2023/24 was presented by Ria Malone and adopted.
Proposed by Dan O’Mahony and Seconded by Rodney O’Hara.
o There were no Matters arising
• The Secretary's Report was delivered by Aidan Synnott. He also read a letter from
Dermot O’Brien, CEO of the CBAI who unfortunately, was unable to attend in
person.
• The Kirwans League Report was delivered by Dan O’Mahony who noted that the
Novice & B Leagues had been particularly successful. He thanked Kirwans for
their ongoing support. He also reported that the 2024/25 league would be held
entirely face-to-face.
• Dan O’Mahony delivered his Out-going President's address, paying tribute to the
Committee.
• Nomination/Election of Officers and Committee members for 2024/25
o President – Mary Breen.
o Vice-President/President Elect – Awaited.
o Honorary Secretary – Aidan Synnott.
o Honorary Treasurer – John Kehoe.
o County Development Officer – Dan O’Mahony.
o Committee members – Denice Harvey.
• Appointment of Auditor – Patrick Black was appointed for a further year.
• Mary Breen delivered her Incoming President’s Address. She thanked Malahide
Regional Bridge Club for nominating her and for hosting the AGM. She pointed
out that 2024/25 would be a special year for DNR as it was its turn to nominate
the CBAI President, Catherine Byrne.
• A.O.B. – Jim McCormack reminded attendees that grants were available from
City & County Councils which could be used to support the activity of Bridge
Clubs. There being no further business, the meeting concluded.
