Regional Teams Competition
This event took place on Saturday November 20 on BBO. As there were only a total of 13 teams entered, there was just a single event - a 14 table 5x5 Swiss Teams Movement with a robot team. Thankfully, the latter didn't win (they lost by 1 VP!) but in any case, we adjusted their score to zero IMPs.
The Overall Winners and Best Intermediate A Team were Sheena Duffy, Evelyn Doyle, Michael Kelly & Kitty Kelly. They scored 68VPs.
There was a tie between the two best Master Teams in terms of VPs. In these circumstances, the tie is broken by examining the results of the direct match between the two teams in question. This yielded a definitive result. The Best Master Team were Mary Deane, Alan Roughneen, Rosemary O'Brien & Paul McDermott. They Scored 57 VPs and won their match against Mary Reid's team by 16/4.
There was also a tie for the best Intermediate Bs. The same tie-breaking exercise was performed and the Best Intermediate B Team were Vanessa Timon, Mary Byrne, Una O'Byrne & Kathleen Briody. They scored 32 VPs and won their match against Michelle Hickey's team by 14/6.
